This Sunday, December 2nd
Support the Troops Christmas Dinner at the Thomasville Exchange Club

The Rotary Cub of Thomasville supports the 1230th Transportation Company, Georgia National Guard. This company has deployed to the combat zone in Iraq and Afghanistan twice in the last 10 years. The Club will honor some two hundred and eighty five of these soldiers and their families by supporting the Family Day Holiday party from 11 to 3, Sunday, December 2nd at the Exchange Club this year. On this day the soldiers and their families will celebrate each other, being, provided gifts and a traditional Turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The hall will be decorated with holiday themes, holiday music and a Bounce House and slide will be provided. Santa Claus will make an appearance with gifts for the children. In addition, supported by Thomas University a Noncommissioned Officers will be honored with a Peacemaker Award and recognized for their service to the community. Rotarians and other volunteers will prepare the food for the officers and non-commissioned officers to serve. Thirty Rotarians will provide homemade desserts for the party. The event will be covered in the Thomasville Times Enterprise. This project reinforces our brand of supporting First Responders and soldiers as this year's overarching theme and is an annual event.

It's Your Turn to Tell US "Why I am a Rotarian"

Over the last three weeks, we published “Why I am a Rotarian,” in our newsletter. You heard from the past, current and future presidents of the Rotary Club of Thomasville. We were inspired by their reasons for joining Rotary and have a deeper understanding why they serve. Why are you a Rotarian?Every member has a personal story why they joined. We want to hear your stories, share them with other Rotarians, and share them with our community.Let’s spread the word why we joined the best club in the world.

Here’s how to share your story, “Why I am a Rotarian.” In 100 words or less, tell us why you are a Rotarian. We can’t wait to hear from you! Then, email your story to Didi Hoffman (hoffmandidi@gmail.com).We will publish your “Why I am a Rotarian,” in our newsletters. We may also display them during the luncheon meetings for our membership to enjoy. We also plan to create a file of your letters and use some in branding and recruitment materials.

Our long-range plan is to package some of your “Why I am a Rotarian,” letters in such a way that they will be considered, and hopefully, published in The Rotarian. We want to hear from all of you! Please tell us, “Why I am a Rotarian.”

Registration is open for
District 6900 Conference in April 2019
