President's Message
Welcome Home!

Who would have thought when we left our last meeting in March 2020 it would be fourteen months before we returned?

Reflecting on what we've endured, a shortage of toilet paper and paper towels, wearing masks, limited or no visits to the hair salon and gym, restricted visits to family members, at times it seems surreal.

Despite it all, Roswell Rotary never missed a beat. We secured a place to meet, found a way to include members online, continued to serve and to support each other through weekly fellowship. Yet, we missed “the gym".

This Thursday we return.  Welcome back! It is good to be home.

Speaker Update
Charities We Support

Fundraising in a pandemic? No problem! The Roswell Rotary team put their heads and hearts together, pivoted at most every point, and pulled off a tremendous golf and tennis event last fall.

Now we get to talk about how those funds were put to use with scholarships and grants to charities who are working so hard in our community.

Saturday, May 15th 9:00AM-1:00PM
HOPE Roswell Needs Volunteers

Hope Roswell is providing 2000 pencil pouches to She is Safe, a nonprofit that helps fight human trafficking around the world. She is Safe will take these packages to Indonesian schools. These school supplies open doors for conversation between the ministry and young girls. These conversations help these girls learn the do’s and don’ts in their everyday lives.

Volunteers are needed Saturday May 15 from 9:00AM to 1:00 PM. ALL VOLUNTEERS NEED TO REGISTER ONLINE. You will receive instructions once you sign up.  Click here to volunteer

New Member Profile
Jonathan Crooks

Jonathan Crooks is a 20-year resident of Roswell, Georgia, having moved to Roswell after four years in Tampa, Florida, and 15 years in Warrenton, Virginia. Originally, Jonathan is from the Albany area of upstate New York, where much of his family still resides.

Jonathan is the proud father of three, twin daughter’s Vivian and Kristine and son Gary.

Though semi-retired now, Jonathan is Chief of Staff for Georgia state Senator John Albers of District 56. Jonathan worked 25 years in the telecommunications field as a national Director of Sales, Sales Training and Marketing for companies such as XO Communications, Winstar and the Mortgage Bankers Association of America. He ran his own consulting firm working along with Northern Telecom at one point, work that took him to India to present the structure of the telephone industry to a large private company, as the country began to privatize the telephone industry. He has also worked in the housing industry, most notably with local company Walton Communities and he has worked in the retail industry with Lego Systems.

As a local Historian, Mr. Crooks can often be viewed portraying many of the founding fathers of Roswell, most notably Rev. Nathanial Pratt, first pastor of the Roswell Presbyterian Church. For a period, Mr. Crooks was a seminarian through that church at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. He is often asked to speak on the history of Roswell to many local organizations around Roswell.

For fun, you will occasionally see him leading the Roswell Ghost Tours.
