President Nancy's Message

Roswell Rotary Honors Leadership 20/20 Students and Addresses Human Trafficking Awareness

This past week’s meeting at Roswell Rotary was an inspiring blend of youth leadership recognition and critical awareness about a global issue. We were proud to honor almost 80 emerging leaders from Roswell High School who were selected to participate in the prestigious 1-Day Leadership 20/20 program. These students were nominated by a teacher or staff at RHS because they demonstrated leadership potential.  This was the 31st Leadership 20/20 for Roswell Rotary and it stays relevant helping them not only identify their leadership style but also give them tools to develop skills that will positively impact their school and the wider community. Congratulations to all the participants for being chosen for this transformative experience!

We were also privileged to hear from Roswell Rotary Past President Dave McCleary and Hannah Palmquist, an Assistant District Attorney for the State of Georgia, who delivered an eye-opening presentation on human trafficking. Their insights helped shed light on this often-overlooked issue, educating members on what human trafficking is, the signs to watch for, and how we can take action in our community to combat it. Their passion and dedication to spreading awareness left a deep impact, reminding us all of the importance of vigilance and advocacy in keeping our communities safe.

It was a meaningful meeting, filled with the energy of our future leaders and the resolve to tackle pressing issues. Thank you to all who collaborated, coordinated, attended and supported this important conversation!

Roswell Rotary to Host Ben Young, Editor of Georgia Trend, and Recognize Major Donors and Paul Harris Award Recipients

At our upcoming meeting, Roswell Rotary is honored to welcome Ben Young, a distinguished Atlanta Rotarian and the editor of Georgia Trend, as our keynote speaker. Ben will share his insights on current and emerging trends, offering valuable perspectives on business, politics, and social issues affecting Georgia and beyond.

In addition to Ben Young’s address, we will be celebrating the generosity of our members by recognizing our Major Donors and presenting Paul Harris Awards. These honors are a testament to the dedication and commitment of Rotarians who have gone above and beyond in their support of Rotary’s mission. The Paul Harris Award, named after Rotary’s founder, symbolizes the spirit of “Service Above Self,” while the Major Donor recognition acknowledges significant financial contributions to the Rotary Foundation.

This meeting is not only a chance to hear from a leader in the world of journalism and business but also an opportunity to celebrate the generosity and service of our fellow Rotarians. We look forward to gathering together to honor these members and continue working toward our shared goals of community service and global impact.

Join us for this special occasion and be part of the conversation shaping our future.

End Human Trafficking Training- Volunteers Needed

Human Trafficking Training, sponsored by District 6900 and hosted at the Delta Museum on March 18, 19, and 20.The training will be conducted by the Human Trafficking Training Center and is specifically designed to teach law enforcement how to investigate and prosecute trafficking cases. Over the three days, officers will receive more than 20 hours of continuing education credits. A key part of this program is the involvement of advocacy groups, who play a critical role in helping law enforcement officers build relationships with victims and ensure they are directed to the appropriate support services. In many successful cases, advocates are part of the onsite team during operations, offering immediate assistance to victims.

Volunteers are needed March 18, March 19, and March 20. Areas of need are Registration Table, Welcome Team/Sergeant at Arms, Set up /Break down each day. Please sign up to help if you can. Contact Mary Lyn Kagan kagan1228@gmail.com or Dave McCleary dave@endhtnow.com
