President John’s Message
Are you getting tired of winter and looking for activities to get out of the house? Well, this month and next we have numerous ways to get involved serving our youth and our community. Opportunities include:

Do you have difficulty following conversations? Are phone conversations unclear? Do you have to ask others to repeat themselves? Do you have difficulty locating sounds? Do you have ringing or buzzing in your ears? Do you have to turn up the TV loud? These are signs of hearing loss. Our hearing has never been a more significant part of life than it is today. It connects us in every way possible. Without it, we lose touch with life and those around us. We use our hearing to feel, connect, navigate, communicate and make sense of the world. Hearing care can be life-changing for those with hearing loss. The more sounds we hear, the more we're able to participate in and enjoy life. This week we will hear from Susanne Lynch and Rebecca Knox from HearingLife.You'll want to hear them! Rebecca Knox began working in the healthcare industry in 2009 and has an Associate's degree in Applied Sciences from Gwinnett Technical College from 2015 with a diploma of Business Technology, certified Microsoft Application professional, and certified support assistant. She has been working with the hearing impaired for five years and enjoys educating and teaching others about hearing health. Rebecca treats every customer as if they are family and thus creates a warm and inviting environment. Rebecca currently resides in Dawsonville with her husband Joe, and their daughter Kaylee is going to North Georgia College seeking a career in Kinesiology. Rebecca enjoys gardening, DIY projects, many forms of travel including RVing, one tank trips with her family, and international. Susanne Lynch began working in the hearing industry in 2001 and became a licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser in 2006. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Stenhoj Maschinenfabrik, GmbH in Flensburg, Germany, and is a member of the Georgia Society of Hearing Professionals. Susanne is passionate about providing exceptional care to the hearing impaired and approaches customer care with experience, knowledge and compassion. Her goal with each and every customer is to work alongside individuals with hearing loss, as well as their families, to find meaningful solutions that will make a positive change in their lives. Susanne has three grown children and a beautiful granddaughter. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and being outdoors. Originally from Germany, she has lived in Georgia for over 20 years and currently resides in Suwanee, GA. Past President Moment - Gene Beckham 2007-2008
The Spring of 2008…Roswell Rotary embarked on its first Honor Air flight to Washington, DC with about 90 World War II veterans. The first of many Roswell Rotary trips to take veterans to see the WWII, Korea and Vietnam Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This is just one of many highlights in the Rotary year 2007-2008 under President Gene Beckham. Come hear more this week. Last week, After Hours welcomed STAR House Executive Director Stephanie Christiansen! She spoke on STAR House's history, mission and the vital role the Roswell Beer Festival plays in their fundraising efforts. The club is gathering a group of volunteers to pour beer at the festival and can't wait to (literally) serve the community.
