Rotary Club of North Fulton

Formation and Charter

  • chartered Jan. 19, 2000, the first Club chartered in District 6900 in the New Millennium.

Fundraising and Projects

  • signature fundraiser, a Concert in the Park, held in the fall each year, featuring the Swingin’ Medallions raises approximately $50,000 each year to fund Club projects
  • signature service project, an interfaith prayer breakfast, called the North Atlanta Interfaith Prayer Breakfast, held each year in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer
  • international projects of the Club have included:  building of three Habitat for Humanity homes in Guatemala; donation to school in Guatemala to purchase books; assistance to a women’s shelter in India; repair of an orphanage in Transylvania; and assistance to provide simple machines to communities in Columbia that convert soy beans into nutritious soy milk and soy meal
  • participated in the construction of six Habitat for Humanity homes in the north Fulton County, Georgia  area
  • sponsored foreign exchange students from the Dominican Republic, Denmark, Columbia (2 times), Hungary, New Zealand, Sweden, and Sri Lanka to study in Georgia colleges and universities through the Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP)
  • named Best All-Around Club of the Year in Category 1 in District 6900 during Rotary’s Centennial Year in 2004-2005 (Celebrate Rotary), in 2006-2007 (Lead the Way), 2007-2008 (Rotary Shares), and 2009-1020 (The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands)

Support of Rotary Foundation

  • since the Club's charter, the Club has been 100% Paul Harris Sustaining Club, with all members supporting the Rotary Foundation Every Rotarian Every Year program by donating a minimum of $100 per member per year
  • during the 2001-2002 Rotary year, the Club had 10 new Paul Harris Fellows and per capita giving to the Foundation was $308; during the 2006-2007 Rotary year, the Club had 12 new Paul Harris Fellows and per capita giving to the Foundation was $341
  • during the 2007-2008 Rotary year, Club giving to the Rotary Foundation was $543 per member, making it the third highest giving Club in District 6900
  • in 2006, the Club became a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club
  • since its charter in 2000, Club members have contributed over $135,000 to the Rotary Foundation
  • during the 2009-1010 rotary year, the Club ranked second in District 6900 for overall giving to the Rotary Foundation, with an average contribution of over $500 per member
  • the Club has 2 Major Donors (a contribution of $10,000 to the Rotary Foundation), has had over 83 Paul Harris Fellows (a contribution of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation), 15 multiple Paul Harris Fellows, 16 Paul Harris Society members (a commitment to become a Major Donor by contributing a minimum of $1,000 per year to the Rotary Foundation for 10 years), and 7 Benefactors (a commitment to donate at least $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation from a member's estate)

Club Foundation

  • during the 2001-2002 Rotary year, the Club established its own foundation, named the Rotary Club of North Fulton Crawford Fund (formerly known as the Sandy Crawford Foundation)
  • the Club has awarded educational scholarships from its foundation.

Extension

  • co-sponsored the establishment of two new Rotary Clubs, the Windward Club, and the John's Creek-North Fulton (formerly Chattahoochee) Club
